At Cordova World Series.

 

Looks like a dead center strike of finish line lights and maybe also the first set of speed lights that where 66’ before finish line years ago, back before they were eliminated and somehow replaced them with speed reading at finish which I can’t explain how it was done then.

The old system was lights 66’ before finish line and lights 66’ feet after finish line, time between both set of lights was used to calculate speed in middle at finish line. Hence the old saying of “run it out back door”, meaning stay on throttle for 66’ past finish line or your indicated speed wouldn’t be accurate.

 

Not so much in motion other than getting to the track…go today and it’s rare to see someone loading a car on to a flatbed trailer…95% of the racers have a nice enclosed trailer, being pulled by a nice big RV or Dually pickup..shit used to be much simpler..

 

The maroon dragster is being loaded on the "Trotters" club trailer which is towed by a 1935-1936 Ford truck. The club is from Ohio.

 

In that day & time that was towing with class! Paint matched fendered trailer, wheel covers, matching color uniforms. Should have won best appearing crew often.
