[IMG][/quote] Holy long injector stacks!!! Must have been trying to tune for length...

Most of the torque converter equipped cars did run longer stacks (for low-end torque) than those equipped with clutches.

LowKat, Looks like Hollywood Blvd had some "bite"; wheels up, RED Fuel car. Bet that was some echo with the tall buildings. Butch/56sedandelivery.

In the Spring of 1966 I saw Bruce run this car at Connecticut Dragway in a match race will Bill Flynn's Baracuda. Not really a fair match as the "Yankee Peddler" was a tube chassied, flip top full funny car. As I reacll, Larson was in the 10's and Flynn in the 9's.

Actually, I don't think Flynn ran a flip top. As I remember, he had a '66 doorslammer funny just like USA-1, then went back to S/S just like all the factory supported racers in '67. I know it's hard to acept that Mopars beat Gm like a drum back when they ran stock blocks and heads back in the day. :D

I loved the jr. fuelers. The racing was so close. In a typical 8 car show, there wouldnt be but a two or three tenth difference from the number one qualifier to the first alternate.

Yea, Flynn was running a 66 acid dipped Cuda with fiberglass tilt front end, left hand drive, etc, sponsored by Bardarhl oil. As for the Chevies "disadvantage", I think that at the time the 426 Hemi was just so much more well adapted too running fuel, especially in a normal aspirated form. There were a few exceptions, Bobby Woods Chevelle being one. But it wasnt until the advent of the 427 L-88 that the Chevies began level the playing field.
