MCINK, these all look to be the yearly WCS meet at Marion. Am I correct?

Lions UDRA meet, 1966:

 

Great pics Cut55!!! I love the shot of Pomona '63. That's the year we shot QC parts all over the starting line, and got another quickie in the roadster in time for 2:00 eliminations! Whew!! To have 1/4 of that energy today.

We were on the non pit side in the stands watching the carbon fiber scoop floating down at us...a few moments later it landed about ten feet away in the isle. About a two seconds later direclty behind us it sounded like someone swung a ten pound sledge over their head and hit the aluminum bleacher. Everyone freaked.

It was a piece of the intake manifold about the size of your fist. It coulda went threw someones skull to their neck....it was still hot.

I have it on display at my shop.

The most stunning explosion I've ever seen AND felt.
