Nostalgia events lets us remember the cars of our youth. This was before Corporate money got involved.

That little Schubert & Herbert car sure kicked some serious butt at Lions back then. I was a big Hemi fan so I hated it when that little Chevy turned on the win lights. I always thought that it was beautiful in its clean simplicity though.

 

This is a great, unusual shot. It really communicates the power and chaos of fuel altered racing.

I did the Google lens deal, tried to read the article shown, it wouldn't allow it to be enlarged or forwarded, (thanks Pinterest).
I think it said it had three different small block Chevy engines, said a 301, a "stock" 327 and a 364 incher, all borowed engines.

 

Here’s an interesting anecdote about the Heidelberg Speed Shop modified roadster from Billy Scott, RIP.
Billy’s dad sponsored the MR.
