That shot of Fauble's '64 hardtop is my photo. There is a paved return road to the left of the cars. They were stopped on the dirt shoulder for a fuel check as that weekend was an NHRA Regional & record run meet. I posted it over on the S/S-F/X thread awhile back.

  11. That's not a dirt road (paved return road can be seen on the right side of the cars. The timing slips were handed out at the base of the timing tower at Cecil. If the equipment slowed down and traffic backed up, racers would pull of the paved road to allow anyone not wanting their slip to continue back to the pits.

Is that a Champ you have in the rear? Nice launch!!

  15. I think it is the same launch. Look at the people at the fence. They are all in the same position except one guy's hand. Pretty cool.

    Royalshifter,

Yes it was. 6.58 ratio with a 4-speed. Lots of fun!!!

By the way, very nice job on the Teixeira Willys. The restoration was extremely well done and the reporting was excellent. Needless to say, I followed it closely.

This could be a hairy job!!!! Ronnie Bohn is the finish line flag man for you East Coast guys....later ran Ron's Speed Shop in Springfield, Va. until his untimely death a few years ago.
