    Thanks for the pic i think that was 1985, The Vega to the left was owned by Rick Webb who had just sold his blue anglia pictured above #7749

    There was also Deano-Dyno-Saurs V-Dub, the Iguana, the Stinger, among others. We are talking 69-71, the initial formative yeaers of V-Dub drag racing. As for Corvair powered rigs like Meyers Purple Potato Chip, there was also Crown Manufacturering who ran a Corvair powered D/Dragster

    The Europeans and Brits really seemed to embrace the alterted/roadster classes. The cars appear refined and improved upon, while offering the classic lines and stances

    For those of you (me included) who missed seeing the "football" the first time around it will be one of the cars on display at the new museum in Nevada. The original frame had long disappeared under a series of Opel bodies so it was recreated but the body and some of the other stuff is from the original car.

    does anybody remember a guy who used to race a vw with a Chevy v8 in it? he raced out of orange county, Ca. i think in the 70's or early 80's. i think his name was Lyle
