My Dad used to get his engine machine work done at the Parts Mart. Kip Brundage used to own/operate the store out of Campbell, CA. The story I was told is that he was color blind and used to count down the lights on the tree. I don't remember who his partners were on the car. BTW the young fan shaking his hand is me. Probably '67 or '68. Not sure where the top pic is taken, but the bottom one is at Fremont. I have some other pics from that event.

Jamie Jackson of Jackson Bros of drag video fame once shared with me a story about the Parts Mart Camaro. The last version that raced in 1970 featured a weird smokey, lace type of paint scheme. How they acheived that was to have the Jackson Bros. hold a candle next to the wet paint, allowing the smoke to streak the wet paint. It was an excercise at time when pyschedellic paint jobs were all the rage

Anybody know the history on this car? A co-worker of a friend of mine picked it up.

    Gene Moody 1964
    NHRA NATIONALS, Indianapolis, Indiana
    D/Gas Class Champion

Gene Moody was NHRA NATIONALS Class Champion in 1963,1964,1966, and 1967 with this car. He also was crowned Street Eliminator World Champion in 1965 at the World Finals in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On top of that, his brother Dale Moody and Sam Jones (in the Moody-Jones C/Gas Supercharged 1937 Chevy) won Indy in 1962,1963, and 1964. Those Indiana boys had it figured out!!!

This car is still in existence. It was found in the Arizona desert by Peter Broadribb. He figured out what he had found and bought it. Now fully restored as seen at the CHRR 2004.

Here are a couple of pics of the Moody & Jones C/GS '37 Coupe. Sam got the car back about 4 years ago and restored it back to the way it used to be. Both he and Dale are still very active as Dale still runs a shop and Sam is building engines with his son. The last pic is our car clubs old drag car. It has been pretty much untouched for alomst 40 years.(Other than engine and tranny combos)

These are pics of a guy in our car club. He did the paint and body work on the Moody/ Jones coupe. The Thames is a small block 427 on alcohol that Sam[IMG] Jones built. The black truck started out life as a Prefect.

The lil red Thames remids me of Randy Troxell's A/Gas panel from 68-70; a local So-Cal car that I am sure Dean Lowe might have seen once or twice
