This Gent has some nice pics of Niagara ( Great shut down Dragstrip) and of the Niagara Reunion ( held at Dunn Tire -Lancaster Raceway).

Also With respect to the Turbine cars ,if you look through the Niagara Reunion Pics at the Track Photographer site for Dunn Tire Raceway. There was a few of the Couger Turbonique Car that a guy had found in the field near Bowling Green.

  3. I'm just now reading Garlits' autobiography and he talks about when people started changing to Goodyears. Pretty interesting book, but kinda dry.

OK, I guess I'm remembering the second time, when the "Eddie Hill" rule was put into effect. Eddie and his wife , Ersie?, were always class acts at the strip.

  8. Just posted in Jeff Burke's Dragracingonline web site....
MAC Tools is pulling out as Doug Kalitta's major sponsor.
    Also,
Ken Black will park Hillary Will's Fueler.
    Also,
Melany Troxel's ride will be parked.
Looks like the DHL Funny Car will be the only Kalitta car on tour in '09.

It's gunna be a sad year for Nitro fans.............

Davis and Ingraham's former purple Fiat, instantlly converted to a funny car by adding just a body. Later dubbed Colt 45

  24. Amen. He was a difficult person to work with at times, but his stories were great. Definitely an innovator and one not tied to sponsor demands. RIP Al.

I like this shot of him checking out the SWC Mustang...

Man that car is cool. Whatever became of it?

  28. He told me that it was just "a little hard to handle".......

  29. We sure wish we could find it. The Vander Woude family has been hunting for it for several years.

It was one of three bodies made by Mr. Norm (or at least sold by Mr. Norm) based on the Charger III show car (one of the bodies was found earlier this year and there's a thread here on the HAMB about it). It was rebodied with a Maverick body in late '70, then the body was placed for sale in ND. We traced it all over KC and then we lost the trail in a small town outside of KC where it was back in the early-mid '80s. We've heard rumors that it's been hanging in shops from the Ozarks to St. Louis to Texas to......

If anyone has a credible lead please let us know!
