Chevamoco is likely Bobby Lagana, or a friend of his, out of Champion Auto. Bobby was just at the Dover reunion a couple of weeks ago. His is most well known for his Chevies, "Locomotion, a Z-11 (?) car, aluminum FX'er anyway. (I don't know nothin' about no Chevies) also ran a Comet FX'er, his son now runs a top fuel car. The tower and ambulance look like Dover Drag Strip.

WOW.....this is one of the few pictures that has stopped me dead in my tracks, holy*****. Is this the original photo or has it been worked over in Photoshop?? The colors are incredible. Damn near perfection. DOG427435 does it again!

Wow, what nice little ensamble here. The Orgegon based Ford powered Lil Annie Fanny E/A. And the DDT! That car frequented several of the flat head circuit meets. Kohler Bros flip top SOHC powered Thames never really its potential

Anyone got any Green Valley shots from the 70's? Or Texas Raceway/Kennedale, or even further back Circle Drag in Dallas? I can't believe all the East and Left coast guys had all the cameras. Where's the Texas stuf?

Sammy Miller ran a injected Chevy dragster before he got into rockets. I used to see his trailer in his driveway in Wayne NJ when I was a kid. The car was called Purple Haze. Anyone have any pictures?

Oh man I remember that trailer...used to see it all the time too. Wasn't he on valley road? Funny, as a kid I looked for the trailer every time we drove by, but I never saw the car...to this day.

Yes, Valley Road is where the trailer was. I saw the car once at a display in a shopping mall. I bought a picture of it and Sammy signed it. I must have been about 10 years old. That picture hung on the wall of my room for quite a while....

ABOUT "Chevamoco" Tons of info on Lagana AND this car at www.doverdragstrip.com ...log in with User Name & password to forum...go to "multi-media' section / Historic Dover Photos -Topic "Bobby Lagana's Chevamoco"...and get almost too much info on it. Shot is at Dover in 1966, with several well-known other, altered wheel base, early A/FX-funnys in attendance.
