Hey guys, I just found this thread two days ago. I have got nothing done since then and am only on page 300. I have a good friend who someone has to have pictures of his cars. I try to give him some each year at Christmas. His name is Joe Law out of West Virginia. He ran A/C and Top Gas Dragster from mid 60s to early 70s out of division 1. He won springnats in 67 and I believe Dallas. Hook a brother up. This sight is awesome.
Also, I had a great uncle Len Ford out of ohio who bought one of Vankes early cars and owned a hemi dodge that they altered the wheelbase on. The doge was called Lucifer and raced in the ohio area. I have a couple of pics of these cars and would like more. If I can figure out how to post I will. Thanks again for this awesome thread!

Just reread my post, the early vanke car was a superduty pontiac. My father passed away this time last year and love to tell about the fuel car he helped pit while in akron ohio. The Steiner and Eshenbaugh car came from out west that summer and Ed was alone. Dad helped him when he was in the area. It must have been fun living back then. After looking at this thread I am about to get rid of my super stocker and build a front engine fueler to play with. It is not as much fun anymore, you can't compete with some of the wallets out there.

No blue oval there, definitely GMC all the way, I've seen better pics of it before and it's surely not a Ford. Probably a cab over mated to a panel delivery. Check out the letters on the front of the hood and the emblem on the fender.

The car in the foreground in not the Flintstone Flyer. Koeffel had a 68 Cuda Funny Car then.

Here are some pictures of my great uncle Len Ford's cars. I was told Lucifer was a factory hemi car and then they altered the wheelbase with an injected hemi. The car suposedly had a logging chain running through the inside to hold the rearend and would occasionally need tightened up!
The tin indian was bought from vanke. there is also a picture of vanke with his new car. Anyone got any more pictures of these cars? I would love to have them, my father used to tell me stories about his uncle racing in ohio and we just got these pictures a year or so before my dad died.
How about some joe law pictures, div1 champ 67 and 68 in comp and then raced top gas dragster until 71 or 72.

I think you mean the team of Larry Steneggar ( sp?) and Al Eshenbaugh. This was a top fuel team from Phoenix. Larry recently passed away.

The 'Steiner' name is well known for followers of nostalgia top fuel. Gerry Steiner was top fuel champion in or around 2003.

You are correct Steinegger & Eshenbaugh. Dad talked to Al a couple years ago.
