    Ross,
Riceman is at Bakersfield this weekend with the car. I saw him in the "grove" this afternoon.

    Well guys,

At 6am tomorrow morning I am heading down to Famoso (Bakersfield) for the March Meet Nostalgia Drag Races..

The last time I was at Famoso was in 1969...so I guess I should get there at least once every 40 years....

I am taking my digital camera and hope to get some worthy photos to post in this thread Monday am.

Sure looks like an air strip based dragstrip to me. The fir trees really look N.W. to me also. I'm going to guess Scapoose (sp), Oregon, Shelton, Washington, Deer park, Washington, or Arlington, Washington if the negative was flipped. Anyone else want to give it a go? This car was owned by Ed Taylor, proprietor of ET Auto Parts in Pomona. I saw the car parked in his shop window on those occassions when my family and I passed by the shop. Merek Choctow (spl) was the driver. The Olds powered car was quite competetive with top fuelers as well as modified fuel roadsters. Taylor won his category at the 1966 Snokers meet. It was cloaked in a full bodied nose piece by then.

The Nova is the car I crew on, and the rear view of the Cuda is Justin Grants Stardust replica.
