That's Tom Grove's 66 cammer Mustang. I saw the car race several times. It was supposed to obsolete, too heavy, but it really hauled ass!

 

I remember these days.... I would see him here in town at Custom Body fixing his own stuff. Coming in on an open back ramp truck! Those were the good ol' days!

That looks like Bob Brandt at the rear. I got to meet him a few years ago when he was working for Joe Gibbs and he was a great guy to talk to. Guys like him and Prudhomme are what made drag racing. Think anyone of today's nitro shoes has ever paid their dues like this????
