So's that red '61 Starliner! B-52s in the background could indicate that this is at McConnell AFB, KS where several drag meets were held back then.

Great photo Sinister. Looks like Irwindale?

Mazooma, I edited the photo smaller (it was huge in my first quote) so your post is now above this one. Yeah, whatevah!

For me, the best Bantam competition coupe ever...the Sandoval brothers, 241 Dodge, won its class at the '57 Nationals...saw it run my first time at the drags, Santa Ana, summer of 57...wonder what happened to it.

  13. Thanks to all for sharing...this is great visual history lesson and valuable resource...Can you imagine the book this thread could create?

  14. Damn, I gotta get my eyes checked, I thought that was some sort of camera mounted on the roll bar. HA

  15. That has AA/FD on the tire. But only has 2 nozzles on the hat and nothing else! Is that all they ran back then?

  16. Is this the guy that got killed on the rocket kart back in the 70s?

Yeah mate, thats an Enderle "Shower Head " injector. The two hoses you see are just supply lines, the nozzle rack is inside the hat.:)
