History Drag cars in motion.......picture thread.

if i'm not mistaken, the car was wrecked twice, the first time being shortly after its debut. i have seen a shot or two somewhere with the car almost entirely in primer grey except for the "bones dubach pisano" lettering on the door immediately after being rebuilt the first time (enough to race, anyway). by far the saddest image is the aftermath of the second wreck.

 

I know this photo was posted WAY(!) long time ago, but is he smoking a cigarette going down the track? That is too funny!

Tony Waters did have a bad ass modified roadster, but no way did he run 185 in 1959 on gas. the fuel ban was on and the 1960 NHRA A/MR record was set by Ray Godman in the Tennessee Bo-Weevil at 153, 9.97. Glenn, you are right. I didn't mean Tony ran that fast at the '59 March Meet. He ran over 180 later when he was running nitro in the roadster.

 

So is that an Anglia front axle under this Chevy?
