Here's a couple of Pics of my buddies Dads car. Last raced @ 69' Nationals and just put back together and brought out for the first time today.
Paint is 40 years old, and the owner has had the car since 61' and still has the title..

Thats so neat to see a car like that and its condition.
I love the Paint work. Notice how one side is different from the other.
Thanks for posting that and we send them best wishes

I'd bet anything that that dragster is Chris "Greek" Karamesines' Chizler car from around 1960-'61.

Karamesines is still out there - running one of those goddawful MODERN Top Fuel dragsters!

This is todays first round results from NHRA at Maple Grove, lifted from NHRA.com:

    (W) Larry Dixon (Al-Anabi Racing Dragster) 0.067 3.997 278.58
    (L) Chris Karamesines (Strange/Chizler Dragster 0.095 4.119 286.50
</pre>Dixon is 3 - 0 against Karamesines in prior events. Dixon is out of the gate first and then right in the lights his engine is eating itself up, but he holds on for the win. Karamesines keeps Dixon honest as he was on a good pass until right before the finish line when it started mixing up cylinders.

Greek was only .028 seconds later than Larry Dixon, who has some of the best RT's out there and is probably pretty well compensated for his driving! There's only .150 seconds separating the winner from the loser in this round.

The Greek also did the same two weeks prior at Brainerd.

His RT's are decent, not the best, but decent, and his times are there, also.

I think the Greek deserves a lot of applause for being out there in this corporate modern age of nitro. It is a fantastic achievement that deserves tremendous recognition! Kinda gives us aging motorheads a father figure to look up to for inspiration. He's been running nitro since the inception of the FORMULA Chrysler hemi, with nitro fuel and GMC 6-71 blowers, which is the paridigm in "unlimited" nitro racing to this very day. Chris was one of the guys that concieved it and got it to go fast fifty years ago!

Strange Eng. also deserves some applause for getting Chris the backing to go out there!

    -90% Jimmy

PS - another achievement that deserves applause is Roo man putting together Brendan Murry's car together so quickly! Talent and professionalism in one man! Meeting such an aggressive deadline is really stout!

Rooman, that is as good a dragster as I have ever seen, it is what a FED should look like. That looks as good as any Don Long or Woody Gilmore piece of art. Congratulations to you and Brendan for having the guts to build what the rest should be building.

  15. Here's a shot of the Greek's rail I took at Island Dragway in Jersey in 1961. Sure looks like the same car as the photo in #13765. As I recall it was a Kent Fuller car built just after the Ivo single engine Buick car.
