This is such a great thread that brings back so many memories. To think, most of these early funny's and fuelers wouldn't even qualify for a modern por stock field, and the racing was so much more exciting back then. NHRA has just ruined the sport. For instance, look at Jenkins running a SS/C Cramaro, who today is a S/S star that is almost a houshold name like he was? No one. Real four speeds, steel wheels, iron motors with real factory castings. Funny cars using torqflites and doing dry hops! How I miss those days.

Just wondering if anyone has pictures of cars in/from Utah. Not salt flat cars but drag cars. I saw a few pictures of the Stags Car Club Car, but that's it.
    Thanks,

Wow! That brings back great memories! Thanks guys for the flashback!! I was an old AA/GS Anglia fan. One of my old favorite AA/GS cars was the Kohler Bros. 48 Anglia, along with Ohio George Montgomery 33' Willy's, and the K&S Pitman 48' Anglia. Like the AA/FA's they were a handful to drive...

  23. These guys aren't in motion, but it's too cool not to post.

Driver L. S. Jamison and owner/builder Jake McVey had the first "dedicated" dragster in the Roanoke area. The 1932 Ford coupe turned a top speed of 112 miles per hour in the quarter mile in 1954.
