That is such a great shot.

  3. Not a hog -- just good taste. Your Willys kinda reminds me of the Carter & McGavock '33 in pic above, which I used to watch at the old Bluegr*** Dragway in Lexington, KY. And a Morris van! Cool, too. What, no Henry J:confused:

The photo is a little fuzzy, but that green Opel looks a little like the Stickel & Notlemyer C/G***er. That thing was a sleeper. It never looked like it was anything special, but boy did it run.

That Morris van is way cool. Hiding somewhere around here is a mid '70s PHR that had a feature on a Morris like that (orange, I think) which helped warp a teen-ager's automotive mind...

  9. '66-'70, when in school at UK--used to hitchhike out Freshman and Sophomore years. Had a friend who was in dental school that had a nice C/Gas '56 Chevy (327, cross-ram) he ran there frequently and drove to cl*** as well. One of my favorites back then was the Houchins Bros. 52 Chevy and '55 "Green Thing", Buddy Criscoe's Mustang and the dragsters that used to come from Cincy.

You might be gettin older but yer memories havent left yet. Thats the same Morris Van. It was orange, red and then black with flames when I bought it in 1978. We painted it white with graphics in the fall of 1984.

Thanks for posting Oldracer. Its tough to see these old greats go. I was to young to witness the car first hand but you can be sure it brought many smiles while skipping through magazines. I believe theirs a thread here on the HAMB relating to the car.

    Found it...
