    No better way to start the morning than to awken to strong cup o' joe, and a bevy of gassers. I can still here hear the wail as they launch, the car skirting around for the first 300' or so while the driver delicatley wrestles the wheel. The weekly 8 car open AA/Gas events were, to me, as entertaining as anything else...Vettes, roadsters, Anglia's, et al.....

    That 33 Willys delivery looks a little rough to be racin...but I love it. Reminded me of the black Catch me if you can Willys delivery.

    no, they were just on a budget and spent their money on go-fast stuff...the car ran quite well...

    I just found these "rejects" in a box. I haven't seen them in years. These were all my "duds". I just started scanning the yesterday....

    found this from a facefuck post from american nitro...kinda in motion. I'd almost drink a schlitz just for them puttin up a billboard like this.

    1963, old San Gabriel Drag Strip that proceeded Irwindale.
    Tommy Ivo's "Barnstormer" during qualifying at a Sunday event.
    During the winter day events, my folks would let me ride my bike to the strip. The summer evening saturday events, they'd drop me off and pick me up.

    this little Thames was real clean...it was a regular at Irwindale. The flip-top body was neat and the car, that I can recall, never had any lettering...just plain and super clean.
