10-4 on the Chris Lang. A good friend traveled with him when he was drag racing. The car was red white and blue when it won ISCA, then he painted it black and gold later. Chris had an upholstry shop not far from here. He was building late model Camaros and Firebirds into an Avanti makeover about 8-10 years ago.

  8. While Plum gets a package together here's a photo or two of Jerry at Mission Raceway in 1968. I think I was there. I remember those records being set. (I was only eleven at the time, a magical time it was.)

  9. A couple more photos from Wheelspin (Ontario based newspaper). John Dutton from Vancouver Island was a good contributor to the mag. Gary Coe's Gunfighter, Bob Kokotailo's Kokomotion. Plus, from Edmonton, an early Gary Beck dragster.

  17. Yup...Nitro Neil, but it's not a Fiat. As I recall he cut down a Chevy or Mopar sedan body.

We raced AA/FD in 1996 when Niel was running, I thought he told me he used a fiberglass legends body on that thing. I remember working late one night and stopping by his pit, he use to bring a old living room couch and sit it in the pit. That old couch felt pretty good after a half dozen beers. JC

I didn't shoot these photos, they were offered up to me to post on another
website WWW.CLASSRACER.COM, on a thread about the dragstrip I work
at. I believe it was 1969 or 1970, especially based on the cars in the background.

Here's the link to the other thread I started about Thunder Valley Dragways.
Many of the photos have been posted on both sites, but many other people have ventured in, as well.

i will ask "Ace" the next time I see him what the time frame is...
