Here is a photo of Mark Vaught's 200" car that I built from Dave's blueprint.
The car is now running out of New England with a hemi for power.

Roo, you know I'm a huge fan of your work, but the body on that car kills the whole thing. It's got the right digger aesthetics...and then a bland wedge shaped body. Kinda like a once hot middle age woman who can't lay off the cheep beer and gets all thick in the middle. Hurts to look at.

OJ McKenney in the Freedom Machine. This is a Paul Wasilewski photo and I only include it because it shows a much younger and slender me taking a shot from the other side of the fence, a long long time ago...lol

    Tony,
it may not show in the photo but it is a big radius body just like they did in the old days with a high crown cowl. It also has a real contoured nose and does not have "downspout" lips or any square corners. The reason that it is a little tall forward of the motor is because it has to clear the dry sump tank which was built with a swirl pot so it would actually work, not like most of the square boxes that a lot of people squirt their oil back into.
I guess that you are in the minority because everyone else loves it.

Yeah, the cowl and nose are beautiful...its that high spot in front of the motor that throws it for me. But then again I always preferred bikini bodies and bare pipe anyway.

    Joel,
I drove Butler's Falcon a few times. He won the World Championship with it in 65 or 66. He passed away a few years ago.

Respectfully disagree, the more I look at it the more I like it...realize that the motor sits sort of high, but assume that is because of the dry sump....the body is restrained, no scoops or stuff to detract from the lines.
