    I saw this one happen, some clutch shrapnel hit a spectator in the pits, cut his leg pretty badly...lucky it wasn't worse...later Larry Bowers pitched the entire motor out of the car, I think that that picture is somewhere on this site.

    this track is the place that had the 2nd set...from what was told to me , there were only 2 sets in existance....:eek: the hill's set are safely locked up at the shop of the guy that outbid me on them....:mad::rolleyes::D

    ...think that this was Joe Winters, who probably set an altitude record for body launch. Winters was an old school guy who lost a leg to cancer but kept on racing.
