I was thinking Benjamin crashed at Tucson in '78. I was there in '78 and seem to remember him crashing.

We were pitted next to a funny car called the "Sun Devil Hustler" that year. He crashed as well. Anyone have pictures of that car?

here is a story I wrote about that trip in 1978.

Magnus, I think that this is Al Bergler's fuel modified roadster. Al was well known for both his tin work and his class cars.

Sorry guys, photobucket deleted my pics.Been investigating, think I know why.The album I have the pics in had a misspelled word that was driving me nuts every time I viewed it.Finally corrected it yesterday and the last posts are up but everything else is gone. That correction must have broke the link on the previous pics.Shit.
So I will repost a couple of them and see if they stay,If they do and you want me to repost, I will.
Why do I have to always live up to my signature.

This picture says it all to me, the classic funny car match race from the very early 70s. JJ vs Fred Goeske at Maple Grove, 71?

Interstingly I talked to Goeske about 2 months ago, when I looking for spacers for my Lightning wheels.

This is a photo of the early times (66) of Blue Hell vette. Don Kirby who ran the Corvette Auto Parts vette advised us and can be seen in the red jacket looking at the car. We are racing Al (Woody) Vanderwoody) in his "tub" plymouth. I think Woody borrowed his son's diving goggles. BTW, we won this race. Great memories. Thanks
