I think it is Carl Casper's "Galipin Ghost", which was made into model kit by MPC. I can see the MPC logo just to the left of the lettering on the nose.

 

Could this be a dragmaster chassis car like "Hellzapoppin"

 

I have been thinking the same thing...There seemed to be a lot of dragsters and gassers that survived. What happened to all the funny cars ? There were plenty of home made, no name gas and nitro injected cars. How about all the early flip top cars? They could not of all had bad endings.
