Dennis, I do remember the name Johnny Roderiques, I just could not remember the car he was associated with. I like these pictures that have been posted from CT Dragway (thanks Mike 442), I just wish I had visited that track when it was open. I grew up in Malden, MA just north of Boston, so we spent all our time at New England Dragway. I moved to RI twenty years ago, and still travel up to NED a few times a year.

  2. Church Key and 442 Mike,if I can figure out how to post photos here so that they are not so small (Like the one I posted of the Shark at CT),I'll send some from Epping and CT. Dennis Doubleday

Before Rick Picard joined the AA/FA ranks, he campainged this fiberglass body model A sedan. Rick told me it was splash off a steel sedan, that ended up weighing just about as much as the steel one.

The BADMAN 55 Chevy model was very inspirational when I later grew up and built a real 55 Chevy. The Moon style fuel tank and open grill were on the top of the list of things to copy.

The Bad Man was designed by Tom Daniels, the man who built the 'Corvette Summer' car!
He also designed about half of AMT's 60's and 70's car model kit line.

May need a little more support behind the front bumper? Pushing air is serious business.

I'm glad you're enjoying the CT Dragway pics guys. I've yet to rummage through the closet for them but I know I have some in an album. I have a bunch I took in 1981 at a Division 1 meet at the track. I was in 7th heaven with all the East Coast Stock and SS heavy hitters, not to mention the other classes. If I remember correctly '81 was the last year for the Modified Production class, sad to say.
I'll hunt around for those albums, in the meantime here's some more from Snake vs Cha Cha. They're only pit shots, I had my brother's camera and there was no zoom on it so no action shots unfortunately.

He's a cute little guy! He'll make a great drag racer, he's already got the ear protection. All he'll need is a ride!!

Since I discovered this thread a few weeks ago I spent evenings after work going through the pictures page by page. I got so pumped up I signed up and decided to share what I have. Nice to know we all have the same thing in common, the love of old (and new) drag cars!!

Anyone have any better pics of the 'Limelighter'? A 67 GTO out of the Minneapolis area in the late 60's. Supposedly a National record holder in either B or D Stock.
