    Damn I dig that Mondello/Matsubara car.

    Do you have other photos from Rasin City drags 1964-1966? I am looking for one with my dk blue T bucket w/ white top push starting the Joe Alves AA/ Altered roadster.

    Old post I know but I raced at that meet. They still owe me money. This was straight after the Nationals at Heathcote.
    I remember Jim Read coming out of the box with his cash as I was coming down the return road.

    "Sneaky" Pete Robinson, not only a terrific racer, but a free thinker and gifted engineer. This was his early attempt at using vacuum ground effects....

    In '65 I was working at a Standard "gas station" for $1.50 per hour. Even a $3,000 car would have been major 'big-timing' it for me. ;)
