I recently found an old Hot Rod Mag., Oct. 1967, that had an article about the '67 AHRA nationals at New York National Speedway. I am looking for any information about the funny car field. There was a notation about the Stripteaser beating the Ramchargers in the second round. I would like further info on the races or any photos available. I am a contributor on the Double H Drag Strip forum. The Double H was the Stripteaser's home track. Before I get any feedback, I know the Ramchargers had transmission troubles but would like to know how the Stripteaser did in later rounds. This would have been the Fliptop Comet that later became the "Holeshot", I'm not sure if it was still owned by Bob Thomas and driven by Howard Neal at this time or if it had already been sold to Jerry Caminito and not re-lettered yet.

Bucksnort, it really is a great photo of a car I remember well. The qualifiers two team were very competitive and I believe my friend Mert Littlefield was as member. More fond memories of Lions. Thanks Mike

  4. That's the Lindsley & Olsen 55 with Jay Lindsley driving. Jay sold that car to build the Anglia that I have (see avatar)

UPDATE - jay tells me he thinks the Corvette is Bill Bagshaw.

HI: Tim mostly raced locally, the car started out pontiac powerd then he had THE ROD SHOP in califonia build a 302 chevy for it, it was a cool car to watch, the deck lid would fly open about half track! he sold it to two brothers in town, they did'nt have much luck with the clutchflite either, they sold it and we lost track of it. Tim has tried to find it with no luck,so if anybody knows its whereabouts please let me know!! THANKS Chris

also a seventies era pic, but really interesting. Looks to be Fred Texieria's ass-kicking Corvette with no top, and carbs replacing the injectors. Anbody know more? maybe after he sold it?
