Re: the Dyno Don pic. I was spectating that day and remember him making some solo passes. Don't remember why. Loud and a crowd pleaser, but there was a little old blue Hudson Twin-Jet that day running in a gasser class that was the real crowd favorite.

Boyd Pennington was a tough guy too as towards the end before having his fatal crash in anothers top fueler, he was diagnosed with luekemia, yet he continued to race! I believe he and Mike Danylo run a Gralits chassied AA/FD before the altered

 

Boyd was indeed a tough SOB. He died doing what he loved. The sad part is his twin boys, who always came to the races with their dad, saw him crash to his death.
