Event Coverage drag pics not as artsy as ace and garys with the fancy old cameras!!

  3. No need to apologize for your pics or your camera. Your Powershot A560 seems to be doing a pretty good job for you, even with everything set in Auto mode. A bigger, more expensive camera won't automatically take better shots for you!

    Your cropping is pretty good in these shots and helps eliminate a lot of background clutter. You can hardly ever go wrong by getting in close to your subject. The "grab" shots on the road have a nice feel to them even if they're not technically perfect. Shame that the sky's all blown out in that shot of the coupe. If your camera has some more manual settings and a histogram you might want to experiment around with them a bit. The low angle shot of the pickup adds a lot of drama. This is so easy to do but most people don't think about it or won't go to the trouble.

    The only other suggestion would be to link to some larger pics, like maybe 640 x 480, unless you're worried about someone copying them off the net. Or you've still got a slow dial-up connection like me!:rolleyes:

    And thanks for sharing. We're not all lucky enough to get to attend all these races and shows.

    WOW dude! I am fuckin stoked that you caught that on video! Those pics are really swell too.
    Thanks again for helping me fix my buggy in the pits when ya coulda been watching the rest of the action. Ol' DamnittDave was right about ya'll. Laura & I really enjoyed meeting you & your family this weekend. We feel like we have known you guys all along. Please show Aiden that he has been mentioned in the credits chronicling my drag racing endevors. See ya'll in TX. in the spring!
