No interest in this? I wish we had a track close to where I live. There are plenty of places, and at least one closed down military runway, but it takes more money than I have these days. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

If I were home and had a car ready, I'd be there.

    But I'm not and I don't, so I won't. :(

We went down a few years ago when they run the Lbs- cubic inch classes. Nice track ,good people, just a littie far for us.

Jalopy Showdown Drags at Beaver Springs every September is the most fun, no rules type of drag racing around, I highly recommend it

Been past a few times, always looked like a petty lad back bunch. I was always miserable from eating too much at the Tootoot.

Sounds cool, what I was hoping Eagle Field would be. I went a couple of times and haven't been back. Judging by the lack of coverage here on the HAMB I'm not the only one.

We have raced at the dirt track...that's a long story.
I should take Rockhound back home for a weekend.

Texas Nostalgia Drags at Yello Belly Drag Strip in DFW runs brackets with "loose" classes. I've run there for 5 years and have a great time each year. Brackets keep everybody honest and the loose classifications make for great spectator experience with "like racing like" - hot rods with hot rods, etc. A well run event that draws a great crowd as long as the weather is cooperative.

Oh, and there are winners and losers with class money and trophy plaques. Best, however, is that there's braggin' rights to be defended next year. Big fun and hot competition the same time!

If someone protested they would use a pump on them, I never saw anyone that get caught lying. The best setup was little cubic /inches and old pro cars .Like a 308 cu/in pro stock camaro

eagle field is run for fun event. I have attended a couple of times. if you want to beat the hell out of your car with no time slips just for the fun of it, it`s a good event. I like time slips . the problem ,to me, is the same as all events. after awhile it turns into money maker and to do that you have to let all comers in the gate so you end up with some real pos`s that you wouldn't line up with. I would like to run an event like you have described with just pure competition in mind
