i have about 15 cars. maybe 2 drag cars. there arent many placesaround here anymore. i really got into it in the mid 90s when a local guy opened a place in town with all home made tracks. the tracks sucked but he did make a drag strip and i could ride my bike there. i built a frame and had a group 20 in a little fiat. the ones guys use for altereds. i cant remember where i got the body or who made it, but it was cool, it was small im boing to say 1/32, but then again the fiat was a tiny car. i have a spring steel dragster now but no where to use it.

It's -8 degrees here, and if the car starts, I'm off to the raceway to do some fine tunning on my slots today....

I'm planning on going to the world of wheels show Saturday morning and then heading over to the raceway around 1:30. The track is only a couple of miles from the Xcel Center. I use a yellow plastic racebox.

Matt (they call me Cheetah Matt at the raceway)

My latest build, A tribute to KS. I like the KS Opel a few posts back. Where did you get that body. All those dragsters are killer too.

Thanks for the comments - the Opel is an older AMT kit (late 90s/early 2000 reissue). The Willys looks great, as well!

I'm from Tulsa, Oklahoma. We're getting a new drag slot track built right now. It should be open in May. The old one across town shut down and the new one is being built about one hundred and fifty yards from my home! lol. i'm pretty excited about that. Anyway, i will be posting more pics of my drag slots in my album. I only have one in my pics right now. My freshly built 63 nova Hardbody car.

This brings back memories. I was on a carrier in the Navy in the mid '60's. On our way to Viet Nam, we bought out all the BX inventory of slot car stuff (Pearl, Subic Bay, Sasebo). Limited space, so we used 2" x 12's end to end to build a removable strip. Digger frames were welding rod. Rewound the motors and got only a run or two before they burned out and had to do it all over again. Got to be a pretty big deal and a fun break from building bombs 12 hours a day.
