The front QA-1 Adjustable Coil Overs rolled in today. I guess FAT MAN Fabrication had them drop shipped etc.

Here is quick video, reportedly from early 1963. A very early win if not the first Cobra road course win with Dave MacDonald behind the wheel. It totally cracked me up! Watch the slow motion replay of the car leaving the and re-entering the track after missing the turn etc. In the slow motion if you watch close enough you will see the driver closing his door after it popped open (as if there was not enough going on)....Classic!

Have you considered using an older snake for your logo? I believe the one you have pictured now came out in 1967 for the Shelby Mustang and was used on them through 1970. And then it was used again for the dreaded Mustang IIs of the mid-late 70s. I always thought this snake looked to corporate designed compared to the early snakes that the guys were putting on their Dragonsnakes. Even the Cobra Jet snake looks a little less corporate designed. I understand exactly what you are saying and I am actually in the process of softening up the original a bit to make it a one off etc. You see what I really wanted in the logo was to use the snake body as the "S" in Snake. This one's layout works perfect but I agree it needs some changes. Since the graphic is going to be hand painted on the car, I am working right now my own version (but it will be similar to the avatar etc. no wheels!

Man you got me drooling now. You are in the process of building my "Lotto winner" dream car. While I like all cobras personally I love the dragon snakes the very best. Drag racing in a Cobra can't beat that combo. :)

If I ever make it back to the states you have to take me for a ride pretty please.

I owned a 1966 GT350-H and a 1968 GT500 back in the 80s. I had a chance to trade the GT500 and a bunch of cash for a real Cobra - a 260 slab side. The car was complete but in pieces. I passed on it as the guy that had it was known to be fast and loose with VIN numbers.

My dad crewed on a glass 27 T with a Boss 302 that ran B/Street Roadster at the drag strip. We had it at a winter car show in the early 70s and there was a real Dragonsnake there. The guy was getting a divorce and wanted to sell the Dragonsnake pretty cheap. We passed on it and I have been kicking myself ever since. But it is tough to come up with $5000 when you are only 14 years old.

I was not planning on the wheeled wonder there. That was the Cobra that I was trying to work into the other logo and then just for kicks I added the wheels and it just sort of evolved!

More ideas. Don't think this was a "Factory" dragonsnake.

You know @loudbang, I have been playing around with the COBRA side graphic as it seems like all of them had it. Something like this:

Not sure though, it may be TOO much. However I did contact my painter this morning and had him put me on the list this Spring...he is trying to find my Princess Alice Blue color as we speak...LOL

  21. How's the interior width compared to your last one, going to have to put a custom bend in the shifter ?

The rear brake kit just rolled in and I see tracking numbers out there from Yukon for the 3rd member and Mosier for the axles. Sounds like all the rear end stuff will be here in the next few days minus the new housing which is still a week out.

Boy, sounds like you are having a good Christmas Randal, giving begins at home huh!
I think I can speak for most of the guys here; we're enjoying every package you unwrap.
When I mentioned "meat and potatoes" I was referring to the frame/suspension related components, maybe I missed it but what did you decide to do about the frame?

I am building it myself. But it is sort of like dominos. We will start as soon as the body shows up as it will answer all our questions. It will be a 3" tube ladder chassis just like the original. When the body gets here we will start and hopefully have all the mount points and interior space frame pieces in place by the time the front and rear end arrives.

I used the Fatman narrowed rack for my old Morris Minor along with their crossmember and control arms. Good quality and good customer service. The only issue I ran into was the steering shaft was almost in the middle of the car and I had to make a tube through the oil pan for the steering shaft.

Wow. What a pain. Hopefully we will not be that narrow at around 54" track. But the way the engine is set back in the Cobra we should have enough room to elbow our way out of there before getting to the motor.

Some years back one of the older guys at work was saying he had a chance to buy a new Cobra, a 1966 427 I think, he said the sticker price then was just as hard to come up with as the current pricing.
BTW, I didn't know there was a 427 Dragonsnake, I found this an interesting read.
