Now that is funny. I don't care who you are. I just about fell out of my chair. Well done! Well played!
    LMFAO!

I asked him what he thought he was going to see under there, he said he didn't know, just looking.

So it did go well last night. But it is definitely going to take some time to get used to it. I will tell on myself a bit here but I had several miss steps through the process. It is amazing how much muscle memory you store. The Austin was a five speed crash box. I did not need the clutch although it was hard not to reach for it etc. It also had a Hurst straight gate shifter...

Right off the back, still in the trailer, I could not get it to start. It was totally dead. It was like the clutch pedal was not pushing the neutral safety switch. After several tries, I finally looked down there and actually thought about trying to contort my foot and try to get behind the pedal and push the button. It was then I saw I had been pushing on the brake pedal! Nice.

There is not much room down there and I have size 11 shoes! With that being said I got the car out and did a couple of soft launches. Then we decided to test the line lock (which was a disaster). First off the surface was pretty dusty and after pumping up the brakes and hitting the switch I could not get the front wheels to hold at all. After the car just took off pushing the front tires, I stopped and tried it again. Same deal. Again I do not think we were totally locked up either but never the less we still pushed forward.

I backed all the way up and Dad poured some water down. Hopping to break the slicks loose easier etc. I let out the clutch and but we started moving forward, I thought maybe I could tap the brakes but just a bit and get the car stopped but I hit both the brake pedal and the clutch and had to abort that fiasco! I tried again and got a pretty good burnout but muscle memoried second gear which it did not like without the clutch and that one was over. Trying to concentrate on the foot work etc. I made a couple of launches with the line lock still on...stupid!

So while the car looked really good, sounded amazing and performed very well, I on the other hand have some work to do!

Heard on "social media" that your dad is thinking about going to help the fellow with the red Cobra. Something about fixing the trunk lid. Not sure what that is all about.:D

Sounds like you need a smaller pair of feet. Time to order a suit and helmet for the daughter! And remember for every hundred pounds you gain a tenth! And you could put a blower on her Riv and go big dog racing! And do you suppose the moment Jungle Pam bent down she thought "Dam shorts ! I hope nobody see's my ass hanging out!" Most posted and most unflattering picture ever taken of her! lol Larry

Great photos, your daughter knows what she's doing!

The Cobra looks really great and seems to haul ass. Glad to see all your hard work paying off, congratulations. :)

When tuning the Holley in a 460 5 speed Cobra, I had to take my size 13 shoes off to avoid grabbing 2 pedals at a time, also the tunnel on this car made it so my legs had to stay bent uncomfortably left.
Forgot all about the pain when pushing the go pedal though, cause it went like hell. :D

Someone went to an awful lot of effprt to make something that is neither fish nor fowl. That front clip is run-of-the-mill kit Cobra, but the molding in the door area and the round area above the right rear took a lot of work. Was there any signage to indicate what they were trying to do?

  24. About the line lock, you may have installed the solenoid backwards. Instead of holding the pressure on front brakes it now prevents the fluid entering front circuit when engaged. Check them in/out's.

And congrats for building such a nice car.

Nope we are all good. It was trying to hold the car back, but such a slick surface, very small tire contact patch and probably needing a final good bleed job are the real issues at this point. But good call. Obviously you have been following the thread and know I am capable of installing headlights backwards on the right day. LOL

So yesterday, since I finally have some really nice photos of the car (somewhere besides my driveway) I got a little creative. I always make hero cards for my cars, probably a connection to my aptitudes and place of employment. LOL
But never-the-less I started playing around and before I knew it, this is what we had ready to print on 6"x 9" glossy card stock.

AND...I also knocked out some cool decals for the kiddies!
