Its never too early to plan for drag week 2017. several hambers were at the pri show in indy. after todays show we all met at hooters for a drag week meeting. the serious conversation was interupted several times by unplanned distractions. who else plans on going and what are you bringing. also who is spectating or watching the live feed?
the tracks for 2017 were just announced. the tracks this year are. cordova, gateway int, byron, union grove. it starts and ends at cordova. only gateway is a nhra palace so it should be in my opinion more fun due to the atmosphere.

Thanks. Last year, I couldn't find definite times and locations until mid-year. Will see if my work schedule will let me get to WI track.
call in sick. that's what 10,000 plus did on a Wednesday morning two years ago. I never saw the grove so packed in my life and this was at 8:00 AM on a week day.
I'm the supervisor for the mill. Kind of hard to do that!. Looked ahead already, if I can trade away one 12 hour shift, I can make the WI one.
By calling in sick as the plant supervisor you are really giving them a idea what it will be like when you retire. The company can also see how valuable you are and give you a raise. Thats what a true company man would do. Its all how you look at it.
I've always wanted to go, but as a school teacher I'd have to drive out the 2nd or 3rd week of school. That's a no go.
I'm no company man. I try to see both sides of the floor. In fact, I have been questioned as to why I always stick up for the guys on the floor, by my direct manager. It's because, I've been there, and try to get to know everyone and their issues. But enough of that, I think I'll just trade shift coverage with another supervisor, and drive down for the day. Did that last year for Martin, it was fun, but I'll come down the night before this time. No leaving in the middle of the night, then returning after the racing is done. Plans are to retire in 2018, so no job interference then.
there are several places to stay close to the track. I-94 and hwy 20 two exits north of the track has a fairly new hotel. several others east on 20. if you want to tent it I have several acres. my sons former high school shop teacher brings all his students out for it. they bus all the kids out. they have always been very well behaved.
Registration went live today. Lets get a roll call on who is going. I have not heard yet how lpng it took to sell out.
I think thats a new record. Do you think this drag week stuff might be popular? We need one of those timers counting down to the start time. A clock to look at either be exited because your ready or to look at to see how little time you have to get ready. Who knows how to get one set up on here? I got the call today saying the polishing is done. I will pick it up monday and run it over to the plater. Then i can put the front and rear end back in. I can feel the clock ticking.
I got registered. I typed as fast as I could, then hit the go ****on at 11:03. Now I need to finish getting my car built.
Hows everyones cars doing. Mine is very close to driving. My copilot and i are talking about doing some testing rwal soon. One of the thongs we want to do is load up the trailer and drive to byron for a saturday test and tune. Then drive it back home and do the same thing at the grove on sunday. We may do this more than once. It would be good practice.
Soon, would be a good time to do that! I guess I need to get mine out to another TnT one of these days, see if it's running ok. Last outing was a bit slow, there might be something wrong somewhere.
its been rather quiet on this thread lately. is everyone ready or are you in the shop working hard. i got my car running then damaged it in july. its running again most recently at last weeks hamb drags. we are now concentrating on the trailer and minor preparations. joel hows the coupe coming?
