Hot Rods Drag week 2017

Sounds like me last year. Stay strong joel your almost there. no room for a fan between the tank and cooler.

 

This is my brother Jerry Barnes drag week ride. This is his first time doing this. He's a really good guy. Introduce yourself and if you need anything he would be glad to help.

I didn't get the coupe fired up yet. Work interfered. So I'm still wiring. Almost ready. In a major milestone, Jeff poured in the oil tonight! Yes, after 3-1/2 years, it's almost ready!

 

Cool *** ride Hemi Joel. Good luck I hope she sounds good when the spark finally meets the fuel.

Stopped for lunch in Las Cruces. Truck is doing OK, running a little warm. Getting ready to climb the big hill on 70.

we are all loaded. joel sent a text he got the car running. he is dealing with some leaks but nothing major.

 

On another thread Squirrel just informed his truck gave up and he continues on the Nova. Thats rough.

 

Sad news a drag week compe***or has been killed in freak accident.

yeah, very sad news about Michael. He was a great racer.

Dan and I are still heading up to Cordova in the race car, stopped for the night in KC. Should be there this afternoon if all goes well.

 

I thought that I would see some racing at Byron, and Great lakes, but that's not going to happen. I just got a call to go back to Elizabeth, New Jersey, for work.

Now that made me laugh. I have been off since July, to get my truck done, so I think its time to work again. I only work so I can play, so now its time to pay.

best wishes and safety to all involved. I ran in 2007 and had a blast. This is an endurance challenge and it takes great commitment. I have much admiration for all participants.

My original grand plan for this year's DW was to drive my ridiculously off topic new daily driver from track to track and spectate for some or all of the dates but a bulging disc has put a damper on that plan so I'll be watching the live feed under the influence of narcotics and generally felling ****py....



If I'm allowed to feel ****py with a new supercharged 8 speed Jaguar....

The car is all set for monday. It has been converted to nitro. The barrel valve and timing are set. The fire up went fine. We are going to meet up with jim for a pizza later. Dennis zalagga is a hamb member driving a white 38 oldsmobile. He goes by barbara on the hamb. He lives across the cornfield from me. This is his first time competing. Dont forget to cheer him on.

A few of us hamb members are out for pizza. Tricky steve and cheryl squirrel and dan mark and some non hamb wisconsin hooligans.
