http://www.hotrod.com/articles/hot-...cial-dates-tracks-2018-2020-proposed-ruleset/ Thanks for starting this thread, I was going to, but got busy talking about Drag Week
Im at pri and was in attendence for the announcement. I have video to post when i get back. No big rule changes that affect any of us. It will be hot for this year. We will have to cross the blue ridge mountains twice adding more stress to the cars. Its also getting into hurricaine season. On the up side there is fantastic scenery. Its a great part of the country. I have been to all of the tracks but darlington. The other three are real good. For anyone at pri the hamb and drag week guys are meeting at hooters right after the show.
Met Jim in the staging lanes at Byron last year. Just looking at cars, we start talking, he describes his ride, I asked, "are you Squirrel?" Small world. Phil
Our drag week gathering went great last night. Joel only got on the table dancing once. I could post a video but its not pretty. From the meeting it sounds like everyone is very busy getting ready for next year.
PRI was a great time, especially the friday night get together with the hambers/drag weekers! It was fun to hang out with Tricky Steve and RacerX, looking forward to the next opportunity.
Day by day. Every day, we pick them up after turning in our time slip. Lately they've been posting them on a web page some time in the morning, the day of that drive.
Ok cool I was thinking I could go check out the trip this summer before the race to familiarise myself with it. But it's all good thanks.
My brother pre qualified from last year so thank goodness didn't have to stress getting in this year.
Just over 4 months until Drag Week. I've barely worked on my car. Life has been so distracting. 80 hour work weeks lately. I better get motivated and finish the car and get it to the track.
I suppose I'll retire someday, but I have no solid plans as of yet. I love what I do for a living, it doesn't even feel like work most of the time, but it is always a struggle to get everything done that I want to do. My roofing business is seasonal, so I put in a ton of hours to get us up and running in the spring, summer I back off a little, fall is nuts trying to service all the procrastinators before winter, then in the winter I goof off a lot and travel. But I don't get anything done on my projects when I travel. Time to make a priority of the Hot Rod.
Tell me about it. The grove is just 2 exits down the road from me. I can sleep in my own bed at night and put my car up on the lift for servicing. Running the event in a different part of the country will provide a nice change of scenery and freshen it up.
