We left a little early for home, got to Hannibal MO. The trailer lights were acting up, the 2022 Tahoe has the lights all on CAN bus, so it gets upset about the current draw and cuts off power to the tail lights, and tells you there's a problem, but it does not tell you that the problem is that it did that. So I got to troubleshoot, did not find a loose connection, did find a few places that could have had an intermittent short, disconnected them, it started working. Then went to walmart and got a couple front clearance lights to replace the ****py ones that were on it, and installed them. I need to work on it one of these days, I've had the thing over 30 years and don't put enough effort into maintaining it. Also found a fun shackle missing it's nut while I was under there. So I got to do trailer wiring in a walmart parking lot at 10 pm.
Just wondering if you got your trailer issues sorted and were back heading in the right direction once again?
Wow @squirrel mid 11s out the cheep. You would have to be happy with that! Those pro mods must really stretch the boundaries of what a road legal car is in some states. High 5s is obviously super fast, but for me, the amazing part is that they can travel so far in them.
The guys with the really fast cars have been doing it a while, and they've learned a lot of tricks about how to make the cars survive, and how to survive themselves when driving them. They also have a very high tolerance for lack of creature comforts...but then again, if you know how to set up the car right, it's really not that bad.
A lot of the really fast cars are "streetable" in the vaguest sense and I'm not knocking them because I think it is one of the most awesome things ever. I was reading that one of the really fast naturally aspirated cars from sick week (7.70s from a 17:1 comp 632 bbc) ran 110 octane fuel on the street and never drove above 55mph. They also stopped every 50 minutes to let the car cool off. A 150 mile drive took like 10 hours. To me they drive on the street so they are street cars.
Just because you wouldn't drive a car like that on the street, doesn't mean the car is not capable of being driven on the street There are ways to make them much more friendly than the car in your example.
