46 more days and were ready! As I understand there may be SIX HAMB Dragsters (Old6', ThingyM, ourselves, 2 cars linked to Randy Winkle, and Joe from Wofford Heights) attenting DragFest. Anybody know of any others? Rocky
I just installed my Ed Iskendarian signature @ the March Meet:D

  16. About top fuel. I understand your concerns about most of the cars looking modern. However, not all of them do.

I had my car built to look as old as possible without compromsing safety or competitiveness. Based outside of Phoenix, we are not real close but, close enough if they run the class and cover some expenses.

My car is candy red, polished magnesium Halibrands, 3 rid bug catcher hat, '60 389 powered on a high percentage of nitro.
we use my '61 Catalina Safari wagon as a push car.

I can't run 5.60s yet like some of them but, low 6's at well over 200 is obtainable. We've run 6.77 at 200 so far in part passes. the car is very crowd pleasing.
It's got to have the nastiest idle/cackle there is. Many HEMI guys have complimented on they way it sounds.

We'll see you up there as well, Zombie. For some unforseen reason, we never were able to lift those front tires off the ground the whole weekend at the Meet. A new 675 h.p. small block should help remedy the issue. I just hope to not be stuck out in the field/dust bowl this time around. Quite a motocross track they have going out there for all the pit bikes!!!!:D

Zombie, tell us about the weekends lineup. I read on Dragracing Online that there is going to be a full field of AA/FA and somewhere else that the Beach City Corvette will also be there. If we have a full field of Hamb Dragsters are we going to have our own category? Who is scheduled for entertainment, what are we going to watch Saturday night? 42 Days and I'm ready:D Rocky

randy said there was an inline club with several members supposed to show for the 6cyl/flathead class. there are supposed to be 8 altereds including pure heaven, pure hell, winged express, the bradford car, nanook, and i cant remember the other ones. there are supposed to be some funnys. i told randy what ever he did, make sure the beach city vette was there. randy finally beat me down, and it looks like there will be a few top fuel rails. as far as the hamb rails go, i would love to give them their own class if we have enough. we signed one country band from bako that has been playing the honky tonks for years. i would like to find a 60s surf band. we're not real sure about the movies yet. randy would like to show movies both nights, and i would like to have the screen up with the nostalgia drag footage playing behind the bands again for friday night, and show the actual movie saturday night. so we are still working that out. apparently there will be some sort of cacklefest. we are trying to get them to push start in front of the grandstands and go down the track under their own power, however some of these cars are a hell of a lot more show than go.
