Just got back. What a beautiful day it was after a less than stellar day yesterday. Here are a couple snaps I took, but hopefully more of you will pile on. Kiwi Kev was in the house!!!
Couldn't even wait til' royalshifter had this off the trailer. I guess it hadn't been to Bakersfield since the late 50's. Too cool.
I was about to leave, and marky was in the lanes with Purple People Eater strapped into the car. I almost shit, and ran out to the starting line. I don't think they wanted him to run because he didn't have a chute, but let him do a small burnout, stage and launch before he clicked it. He blurped the throttle a few times down the track. I think he really wanted to drop the hammer. I applaud him for even trying.
I probably shouldn't be posting these next few, but I assure you my bro got WAY better pics than I did. You will have to wait for the next issue of Rod and Kulture though. 1st....................this happened.
That's all from me. Don't want to get a spankin'..........from Zombie at least. But there were few felines at the track who could do the deed. Get out there. Support your fellow HAMBer.
great day at the track!!! everyone who pussed out for fear of rain really missed out! non-race car turnout was low, but so what. racing was good. people were good. weather was great. glad i made the trip.
Thanks for posting the photos Coby! Very nice! Great seeing you out there! Yeah, seeing Marky go down the race track in The Purple People Eater definitely made my weekend.
I went on Sunday and there were very few people there. After watching them clean the track for the fifth or sixth time, I headed for home. Here's a few pics: http://www.donshotrodpage.net/Dragfest/index.htm
You know what, Coby, I hate you. You sure found your niche, with the "water and Hot rod" thing. Looks beautiful.
Damn. I skinned knuckles and cussed at my damn car and didn't get it together to go. I wish I had caught a ride there. I'm glad it was a good time. And I sure hope it paid the TR&K guys enough to try again.
