There seem to be a lot of artists here. In honor of Friday I thought I would show you what I have been working on. I know nothing about cars, so I can't contribute much. To dummy a paintjob on Photoshop, you paint with pixels, which are called raster images. If you are making a poster or tee shirt, you use line art, which are called vectors. These vectors have handles that allow for adjustment, as if you were bending wire. I pasted a flame vector into Photoshop, which made a new layer instead of being glued to the other pixels, so I can move it around until I find the right spot. That way I can change the size, angle, etc. without changing the car. This is not my car, but the same year. Somebody painted mine Rustoleum blue. I want to use Auto Air colors to get the original dark blue, and add flames. The hitch is that I want to add pink to the color scheme, to remember a few people who have had breast cancer (but I didn't want flaming pink to give the wrong idea). My thinking is that people love to photograph cars, so if they take pictures of mine, it will raise awareness. Here again, I can give what I can give. I could have made a donation instead of buying the car. This is a gift, uh, that keeps giving. I think you can follow my progress as I pasted in the flames and figured out different arrangements. None of these is quite the look I am going for. I actually wouldn't mind flames you can see from outer space, but I also want it to fit the shape of the car. With vectors I could even skew the angle on the whole thing to match the trim angle.
Think Scallops .... Much Classier .... And then have the pinstriper incorporate the breast cancer ribbon symbol into the striping .... Pink flames will only make people think your cheap and gay ... If you put those ghastly coloured flames on your car , you will be Drawing Fire ...
