I did go down to Den Haag to explore around on Saturday. Unfortunately I didn't find the cruise. I saw a few American cars cruising around but, I never found where they were going. I'll probably go explore Amsterdam tomorrow. Are you up for a visit during the week after working hours?
Sure. Too bad you missed it. This was the last monthly SaturdayNight-meeting of the year here in the Hague. It was in the south/west part of town. Here's the Google-link; LINK There's a similar large general US-carmeeting in "Muiden" next week on sunday. That's just east of Amsterdam. LINK
Here's a link to a fellow named Fred who lives in the Netherlands and has a hotrod 50 Plymouth coupe. He sometimes participates on the P15-D24 old mopar forum. http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/search.php?searchid=134386
Hey Don, see if you can find this while you're in Amsterdam. With a little bit of Photoshopping, you too can look this cool!
Don just sent this thread to a mate in Eindhoven to see if he can help, This is his web http://www.rodshop.nl/ Hope he can do something for you. Paul.
Don, it`s the Hot Rod Drags this weekend coming, at Stratford on Avon,England. If it stays dry it is well worth getting a cheapy flight over.I`m sure if you posted a request for a ride etc on the nsra uk website, you`d get somebody to pick you up and look after you.
There are several low cost airlines in Europe. The most well known is this one: http://www.easyjet.com/en/book/index.asp Try also Ryan Air and Fly baboo.
I'm finding that while there are several low cost airlines in Europe, most have very limited service. Which is OK if you just want to wander around and explore new places. If you want to go to s specific place at a specific time, the pickins can be pretty slim. Also, you have to watch the total price. A ticket that costs 40 or 50 Euros doesn't look so cheap when you add 150 Euros in taxes and fees and then convert that to USD's for a total of $290.
Hi there Don, sorry for not responding any sooner, but my father in law was suddenly taken to hospital and is serious ill, so we wont go to the Drags. I send you a PM with details. bye Leen
I pulled my '62 NewYorker wagon out of the garage this evening and met up with Don for a short chat at the hotel he's staying. This turned into a 2.5 hour 'chat' in front of the hotel, partly blocking the entrance LOL. It was fun talking cars and stuff with you Don! Always nice to put a face next to the username on a forum.
Herman, Thanks for stopping by. I enjoyed talking with you. I did get a ticket to UK for the weekend so, I will be at the hot rod drags, rain or shine.
Some nice pics can be found from last weekend on Don's euroblog-page; http://euroblog.donshotrodpage.net/ Glad to see you made it Don!
I had a great time. I'll put the rest of the pics on Don's Hot Rod Page when I go back to the states for a visit in about 3 weeks.
