    CHANGE IT UP!!

Try to ponder this , we all know what we would like to bring back .

ask yourself this , WHAT WOULD YOU TAKE TOOOOOO 1956 , FROM 2009 ?

I think id take them fellas a truck load of lincoln wire feeds, and a nitrous set up , I might not show em the nitrous set up until a get a few suckers to run for pinks ha haha

  2. I have a section of a local newspaper auto classified from 1964. One of the dealers is advertising a '57 Chrysler 300C ragtop for $1500. Have to think I'd be picking that up, along with a nice '59 Pontiac of some sort.

  3. To toss a lil' dash of logic in to the mix...

You know, in order for all of you to purchase this stuff in 1956 you'd need to first purchase a boat load of 1956 (or earlier) currency (in 2009). You wouldn't get too far trying to buy a '32 coupe with that funny looking 2009 money. ;)

if you wanted to bring aircraft into it, you could still get war surplus mustangs then! maybe some corsairs, or bearcats would be nice too.

oh, mac, how about bringing some new wrinkle wall slicks back with ya for the same purpose.

The cash thing can be avoided, if you cash in all of your assets and exchange that cash for gold.....bring the gold back, and cash it in...then you're fine to buy anything and everything.

Now back in 1956, cars are cheap....but the WWII surplus was cheaper, so I'd be saying hello my own airforce of P-38's, P-40's, and corsairs...then of course i'd snap up ardun heads, and a 1957 nomad: black with red interior, with just a basic 283, and a 1957 Pontiac with the fuel injected engine

Wouldn't your 2009 gold be worth a ton less when you got back to 1956? But since I said money is no object I guess it wouldn't matter. The whole idea of traveling back in time with your knowledge of today is mind boggling. Interesting that the original premise of cars and parts went through this thread pretty quick. Lots of folks began to think of family and that's neat. Ever see the movie "Frequency"?

900 sets of Buick tail lights, Special, Century, the works. You cant find them for anything and people pay big when you do.

  10. 1956 wasn't much fun for me. Still wearing braces from being born before Saulks vaccine.

The '50s were fun if you were Beaver Cleaver but for some of us the '50s were a drag.

Pretty much anything that could be had in the '50s is available now. The price is higher but so are wages.

Now if I could go back to the '60s. Naw that would just mean that a certain police action was looming.

Hmm... I'd take back Silver. You know, before the big crash. Buy a huge piece of abandoned land, build a bunker, fill it with all the '32 fords, '49-'50 Mercs, and Woodies I could find, thrown in the top of the line '56 Chevy post for my Dad, a couple 55 Nomads, some '55 Fuelie Convertibles, then weld the thing shut, bury it, and come back and find it now for the coolest barn-find ever, and NOT mess up the time-space continuum.

besides the obvious money making or cool stuff to bring back, I'd be sure to bring my camera. then go to Bonneville, Oakland Roadster Show and every car show or drag meet I could get to and take 100,000 photos.

I'd also like to just drive around and see what the area I live in looked like before all these people moved here and messed it all up.

In my mind, the "unlimited funds" aspect kind of negates the whole premise---if you've got unlimited funds, you might as well stay in 2009. Say you could only take a couple grand with you........?

I have to agree with this. Also, they hadn't yet made my dream car in 56. I'd have to wait a couple of years.
