Okay, this is just a fun bit of pondering...something I mulled over while handling snow removal five times in one day on this end....

The thread about the upcoming Monster Garage Kustom Kolaberation episode and the "Milestones" article in the new issue of STREET RODDER detailing how many big names contributed to the creation of that wicked cool Track T that Pete Chaporois built for his Dad got me thinking...

If YOU could ***emble a "Dream Team" of car folks to help you build a killer ride (without a one week deadline or anything Hollywood like that!)...who would ya pick and why? What would ya build???

Me??

The Team:

Fat Jack Robinson
John ****era
Jack Roush
Pete Eastwood
Leonard Emanuelson
Dan Kahn

Why these guys?

Fat Jack and Lil John built a cool little modified for Strohs years ago, and I've always admired their individual accomplishments above all others. With their combined fabrication and car building skills, I know I'd have one killer ride!

Jack Roush built a bad *** 1979-82 Mustang back in the early 80s featuring a hot Cleveland mill. He also owns several successfull NASCAR teams and has access to all the trick engine building equipment. I'd have him on board to build a screamin 351-Cleveland based engine for the car and to back it up with a NASCAR spec four speed.

Pete Eastwood is half of the team that built my beloved favorite street rod of the 80s...the Eastwood & Barakat sedan. I'd have Pete on hand to steer the project in a semi-sensible direction...keeping it bad to the bone, but still with an overall rough and raw feel...rather than letting it escalate into Boyd Territory!

Lenny is my all time favorite automotive journalist, and from years of reading and re-reading his work, I'm sure that he and I think in the exact same direction. Like me, his car building skills may be modest compared to the others on our team, but I would dig having him around to help me make some key decisions and to write the inevitable magazine project car series that would follow this thing through all of the build phases!

Dan Kahn needs no introduction here, and I'd love to have him as part of this Dream Team to lend the benefit of his youthfull enthusiasm and eye for modern style with a nostalgic flavor. His recently completed modified looks AWESOME, and being fresh off that build makes him a prime candidate for MY team!

The Project:

I've always wanted a 35 Ford coupe...a bad *** drag inspired street terror...an all steel, full fendered door-slammer capable of ripping through the 1320, yet still being streetable enough for cruise night!

This car would be built RIGHT by the above team and I...hammered out and tweaked at every corner to maximize performance, style and the all-important "gotcha factor". I can't say exactly what the finished product would look like...but with influences from my favorite car guys, I KNOW it would ROCK! My only parameters going in would be that it retain the unmistakably clean and cl***y iden***y of a 35 Ford coupe, be Ford powered, and ***-on-fire FAST!!!

Ha Ha...it'll never happen in THIS world...but ****...I needed SOMETHING to dream about as I pushed and tossed all that snow around outside today...thanks for indulging me the fantasy...feel free to share yours!

I'd have to have Grumpy Jenkins on my team. Especially if there are any rules to be broken.

Maybe Tommy Ivo because it would have a Nailhead in it.

Allen Bonner to do the Suspension. He's a local guy that I've learned a lot from.

From there I don't know...

I got to build a car with Killer all ready and I can tell you a few things you'll need to know since you picked him for your team:

After working for about 20 hours straight he begins to laugh uncontrolabily.

Since he has discovered crop dusting, he hasn't been the same.

He likes to use the loudest tools in the shop.

He is probably the funniest m-f'er to ever set foot in a shop. He has nearly made me pee my pants on many occasions.

Hatch mentioned ME first!!

I would have Mike (Kustombulder) Brimm head up my team.
Consultants would be Watson, Barris Jimmy Vaughan and McPhail.

Donzie would provide the Theme music, Denise would provide the grub, And Mr. Mike Brimm would make sure everyone looked cool while working! As for the actual team of builders (aside from myself), that would HAVE to be Fat Hack for his nuttiness, Hatch for his "vision", And of course, Germ, cuz He's Germ...(and we all know he secretly loves everyone from Michigan!) Of course we already proved our stuff, as the BFD crew:
Sam (SamIyam), Tim (not on HAMB), Terry (38Chevy454), and Ron (not on HAMB) as the main crew. We of course had additional help from several others that contributed smaller amounts of time.

Give us a good shop and the tools, we could build some great stuff.
