have a power master cylinder that fits perfect.just doesn't have the deep hole for the rod.can you drill this piston to accept the rod?or is it hollow inside?this is a mid 80's gm master cylinder.anyone know?

no,the rod needs to be deeper in the piston so it will not fall out.

You can't safely drill the piston unless you remove it.
It'll most likely just spin in the bore and do damage to the internal cups and springs...not to mention the potential for chips getting between the piston and bore and causing issues.
With it out...the answer to your question will be obvious.

Personally, I'd just get the correct master for the application.
    They aren't that expensive.

to answer my own question, yes you can,in case anyone needs to do this one day.worked great, even cut a groove in the hole to lock the rod in the master cylinder.

How much did you drill in?
