can you guys tell me if it's do-able to drill & plug a GM truck 1/2 ton 2wd's brake rotor for 6 lug wheels???
Does the 3/4 ton use different brakes? Or can you just buy new rotors with the 6 lug pattern? That would be cheaper if it fits. I'm just guessing here.
Are 2wd 3/4 ton trucks 6 lugs? I know the 4wd's are 6 lugs but that won't work for sure. Thanks anyways.
Some GM rotors don't have enough material to be redrilled at all. They are thicker where the stock studs are,and thinner in between. So it depends on the actual parts themselves.

1988 and newer light duty 3/4 ton 2wd pickups are 6-lug.THe depth is different than earlier trucks though. Im trying to find six lug rotors for the front of my 47 Fleetline. Im checkin on some rotors off of a Nissan,Mazda or Isuzu P/U to see if they might work. I was gonna drill some Camaro rotors but there wasnt enough meat on them to be safe. Ive seen a 6-lug disc kit for 41-59 chevy trucks but it was close to $500 dollars.I might look into that if all else fails. I know its a sign of getting older when I used to spent my money to make my car go fast, now I spend my money to make it STOP!!!
older and wiser perhaps... fast is the stuff ~ if you can stop it after the pass. I DO NOT want to buy one of those kits only to find out it's a combination of off the shelf crap.
Yeah thats me too! I work at a small independent auto parts store and constantly digging through catalogs to try to figure out what stuff will fit.
