Anybody know if Barney ever raced out here in NJ at Flemington Speedway? I have this program from the speedway I found in a barn when I was around 12 years old. It is dated 1932 and has a Barney Oldfield signature.
I asked some of the old timers and they don't recall Barney ever racing on the east coast. The only other thing I can think of is that someone just heard his name in conversation and wrote it down on the program. Maybe I should go on Pawn Stars and see if one of their so called experts can verify that it is in fact his Autograph LOL! Heres some pics. some pics.

Paintman, I'll ask Barney's nephew if he has any info on East Coast racing.

I think my most well known bar is the Bigfoot Lodge, ever been there?

Neither are easy, but Hot Rods are more fun than work. ;-)

Yep, don't get to bars out that way much, but been to the Bigfoot a few times, Los Feliz, right? Real cool place! You nailed the decor in that joint!

I had to share with with everyone just in case anybody else was interested in the Information.... This came from Hamber Kurtis from Australia:

Hi Bobby. Congrats on your latest project. There are many Oldfield fans but none have come close to what you have thought of. I wish you the best of luck. While i'm on the subject of the great man, i recently recieved a PM from another HAMBer who dabbles in art. He was wondering what color were Barney's eyes. To be quite honest, i have never thought of this when reading or studying a PreWar drivers history and i don't remember there being any reference to his eyes, skin color or any other natural human feature. In all the books published over the years, the famous cigar munching driver has never had a written discription describing what he actually looked like. I went to the trouble of reading through my notes but nothing is mentioned. So....the question is..Do you have any idea what color eyes Barney Oldfield had? If not, could you please ask his great nephew. This has been bugging me for a couple of weeks and any help would be appreciated.

    Best,
    Ivan.

And this was the reply I got back from Barney's Great Nephew:

    Bobby,
Barney drivers license says his eyes were Brown and his height was 5 ft.10-1/2 in. and weight was 215 lbs. Talked to Mark Godfrey from Brown Fox Books yesterday and said he had talked to Jared Mort about having some books for reference and maybe even for sale at the Oldfield Liquor room but never heard back. My thought is it would be nice to have a reference book for customers if nothing else. I am trying to put a book together myself that Barney started before he pasted away but never finished with a bunch of newspaper clippings , photos and career race performances. Have been promoting the Bar every bchance I get and hope business is doing well.

^^^ That's great stuff! There has been a lot of info and photos on Barney on the HAMB thread Race Cars 1894-1944, just posting an info request and link to the bar should produce some interesting info. The price he got for s****ping the Christie FWD race car sounded like a record at the time. Bob
