Drive line -- How short is to short?

    The only thing to add here is this- Leave some extra slip joint travel to prevent bottoming in the trans.

    Well, you got me, I guess you have plenty of experience with a short shaft. (I, too, mean no offense.) :)

    I've run them shorter than that with no problem. I was running a big block too!

    Okay guy's, wow. Thanks for all the input. I will probably be moving the rear end back two inches, (not sure yet however) which will give me a 10" drive line. And as 61bone suggested, there will be plenty of play in the yoke for movement Although playing around with it the other day there isn't going to be much travel.
