Picked up this rather unique (at least to me) drive shaft with a pile o' parts .The u joint caps have tabs to bolt to the yolk at both ends. This one is 56" cap to cap. What say you?

I need a lawn first! That's actually a hill. You think it looks bad in the pic...!

70's Dodge pickup has caps like that on the back, not sure of the front though. It looks long in the picture, truck or big car.

Looks to me like the other end has a slip joint? Splined.

If it's a slip joint, it ain't slippin' - most likely stuck; I have it soaking with Aero Kroil (good stuf)! Definitely a threaded end though. There is a threaded "fitting" inside there; just appears to be hollow once removed (in other words, the end isn't being held back by it, or the ladybug).

That one end looks like someone modified the driveshaft at one time. As in shortened it a bit. The weld doesn't look factory.
Just about every drive shaft I have seen with the bolt on yoke was in a truck of some kind.

You never know what somone might have stuck together to try to do a specifiec job with it though.

Yea that does look like a slip yoke.

Welp - there she be. The “offending welds” in a previous pic are fine; just not photogenic I suppose. The end caps were what threw me - never ran across them before.
