I am working on rear suspension on my 32.

I am using a 36/46 open drive rear on 36 radius rods. At ride hieght, the pinion is about an inch higher than the tailshaft on the transmission. The trans in pointing down at a couple of degrees.

How should I set my pinion angle? For some reason the uphill drive shaft looks odd to me.

    It looks something like this...

As long as the rear end pinion and the trans tailshaft
are the same angle (same relative to the ground), I don't think the drive shaft angle matters. Before I lowered my car my drive shaft was about level, now it angles up toward the rear just like your pic.

Im having a damn vibration in my merc right now. Im shimming this way and that. Looks like I might have to cut the floor just to clear the drive shaft when the cars dropped.

  4. Mike's right, as long as the pinion and tailshaft are
    paralell things are good.

I questioned mine in my A when I first mocked it up because
the driveshaft went uphill to the pinion. Plenty of miles
on it now with no trouble.

Perhaps this will help, perhaps you already know. Click on the word "more" under powertrain setup.
