Hi guys, I'm putting a Packard R-11 o/d into my '38 Packard and need to shorten the drive shaft 4-5 inches. I remember when installing a 700r4 in a '55 Belair I took an extra inch off to allow for movement in the rear-end....as per someone suggestion. Is that pretty much the protocol for all drive shafts?

    thanks, mendo
