Technical DRIVESHAFT MEASURMENT

    AGAIN!!!!!. Can some one tell me the proper way to measure for a new drive shaft?
    Thanks for any help.

    Not knowing your rear suspension in detail...
    Place the front yoke into the trans, have 2 or 3" wood block under the rear tires, AND wheels(4) chocked! W/trans in neutral, rotate the front yoke till it is at 9am - 3pm, pull it rearward approx. 3/16". Tape measure the distance to the rear yoke center (already set at 9am-3pm) there is your new shaft length. Does depend on how much fore & aft movement the suspension req's. A more accurate measure slides the 'used' front yoke in, only as far as the clean seal worn 'ring' on the outside of the yoke. /If you use the method in the following post you'll be able to remove the shaft easily, when u-joints need attn./
